Gear, Glass, and the Works
So basically we set out on a mission to film anything and everything of interest that came our way in 2016, and 2017 will be no different. All of last year, we reinvested all of our earnings into better equipment (70-200 2.8L IS, DJI Ronin, DJI Osmo, GH4 x2) to serve our clientele. We just wanted to share with our viewers what all we're currently using in the case that anyone out there had questions about gear that we could answer, aid any purchasing decisions, and contribute to gear review crowd.
Cameras - We both currently shoot on the Panasonic GH4. Panasonic's GH4 is a micro 4/3 videography-oriented camera body and is capable of 4k footage, focus tracking, and 12fps continous shooting. It's professional workflow is outstanding and the ease of use (while having highly technical features) is great for any videographer. We both use the Metabones adapters so we can utilize lenses from other companies while maintaining functionality.
Glass - We typically like to stay with Canon Glass, but we aren't opposed to other lenses. In some cases, throwing the vintage lenses on with adapters gives the best result. Modern world technology mixed with old world gear can create some highly desired results. Our bag favorite right now is the Canon 35mm 1.4 L series.
Drone - We have and use a DJI Phantom 3 Professional at this time and it's a sweet little rig. We plan to upgrade at some point to some newer technology, but for now we would recommend the 3 Pro to anyone.
Stablization - We use a mix of monopods from Benro and Manfrotto, tripods from Benro, and a DJI Osmo for moving shots. We are excited to welcome a DJI Ronin to our arsenal as of 01/24/17 so expect to see our moving stablization quality to skyrocket!
